Here is a write up prepared by Sri Gurumurthy of Perungalathur.
"...As we are going to celebrate World Humanity Day on December 11, I cannot
see a better example for Humanity than Sarma Sastrigal, a priest in Chennai. Yes he is a resident of West Mambalam in Chennai.
Recent devastating Chennai flood has entered his house also in West Mambalam and damaged many of his household articles like Fridge, Furniture, Computer, kitchen articles and not to speak of his valuable books etc etc..5 to 6 ft water entered the house. In spite of the fact that he himself being a victim of the flood, he has extended his helping hands to other affected people in Chennai.
Here are some pictures taken during his visit to flood affected areas
in Jafferkanpet, Ashok nagar and Saidapet in Chennai on two days 8th and 9th of Dec 2015. . He met the affected people and distributed some relief
materials. Even he visited some relief camps and The relief materials were generously sent by the Mathrubhumi group, a leading newspaper organisation in Kerala.
This world is still alive just because of people like Sarma Sastrigal who are dedicating their lives for others and being a living witness for Humanity.
“In a world that is ever
more digitally connected, each of us has the power and responsibility to
inspire our fellow human beings to act to help others and create a more
humane world.
