A father, while sending his newly married daughter to her husband’s home, gave her a simple piece of advice:
“My dear daughter, if you are happy in your new home, write to me with a pen. If you are unhappy or facing difficulties, write your letter with a pencil.”
Six months passed.
One day, the father received a long letter from his beloved daughter. Eagerly, he opened it and began to read.
She wrote lovingly about her new family. She praised her father-in-law and mother-in-law for their kindness, spoke highly of her husband, and described how warmly everyone treated her. Every line filled the father’s heart with joy, and his face shone like the sun.
But as he reached the last line, his smile suddenly faded.
His daughter had written:
“Dear Father, I am truly happy here. Everyone loves and cares for me. Life is wonderful. The only problem is that I could not find a pencil anywhere in this house!”
The letter was written entirely in pen.
The father’s heart broke into a thousand pieces as he realized what his daughter was trying to tell him.
Sometimes, the loudest cries for help are hidden between the lines.
