Today in Tamil Nadu, many seek support from Hindus and rise to respectable positions but for cheap reasons—money and power—for satisfying minorities are speaking nonsense about Hindus and Sanatana Dharma.

Though I am not interested in arguing or convincing them, I feel compelled to share the truth of Sanatana Dharma—its roots, significance, individuality, and eternal goodness—through a short story and moral reflection.

**Story – Eternal Sunlight**
A man enjoyed the bright sunlight. Later, he built four walls and a roof, only to find darkness. To overcome it, he lit a lamp—but beneath the lamp, darkness remained. He lit more lamps, yet each left its shadow. Finally, fed up, he stepped outside and was embraced again by the incomparable, unending sunlight.

**Meaning:**
- The **sunlight** is Sanatana Dharma—eternal, all-encompassing truth.
- The **walls and roof** are the ego, the “I”-ness that limits vision.
- The **lamps** are philosophies—valuable, but incomplete, for “it is always dark under the lamp.”

**Significance of Sanatana Dharma**
- Sanatana Dharma is at least 8,000 years old, far older than most known traditions.
- Rooted in Sanskrit: *Sanatana* means eternal, without beginning; *Dharma* (from *Dhri*) means to uphold, sustain, unite.
- It is not just religion—it is a way of life, a rational and coherent view of reality.
- It emphasizes **self-correction first**: enlightenment begins at the individual level, not by preaching to others.
- It warns against neglecting Truth (*Satya na pramaditavyam*), Righteousness (*Dharma na pramaditavyam*), Welfare (*Kusala na pramaditavyam*), and Prosperity (*Bhutyai na pramaditavyam*).

**Unique Features**
- God-centered rather than prophet-centered (*Purusha Evedam Sarvam*).
- Self-enquiry over blind belief (*Svadhyaya pravacanabhyam*).
- Belief in both immanent and transcendental existence (*Iha and Para*).
- Guru–Shishya tradition spreading light like one lamp kindling another.
- Universal brotherhood (*Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam*).
- Prayer for all beings (*Lokaha Samastaha Sukino Bhavanthu*).
- Acceptance of noble thoughts from all sides (*Aano bhadra krtavo yantu vishwatah*).

**Moral Lesson**
Sanatana Dharma calls each of us to:
- Follow our individual Dharma (*Sva-Dharma*) with zeal.
- Perform duties sincerely (*Karmasu Kaushalam*).
- Cultivate virtues (*Guna Dharma*).
- Never deviate from righteousness.

***Sanatana Dharma is eternal sunlight—beyond walls, beyond lamps, beyond ego***

**Mantra:**
*Om Namo Narayanaya*

May Sanatana Dharma be preserved forever.
May the entire world be united by the bond of true love.
