."இடது காலை தூக்கி வலது தொடை மேலாகவும், வலது காலைத் தூக்கி இடது தொடை மேலாகவும் போட்டு நடராஜரின் திருநடனம் போல காட்சி கொடுத்த பெரியவா".

ஒரு நாள் காஞ்சி மடத்தில் ஏகமான கூட்டம் பெரியவரைத் தரிசிக்க காத்திருந்தது. வரிசையில் நின்று கொண்டிருந்த பக்தர்களின் மத்தியில் ராமலிங்க பட் என்பவரும் இருந்தார். அவரது கையில் பட்டுத்துணி போர்த்திய தட்டு இருந்தது. அருகில் வேதமூர்த்தி என்பவர் நின்று கொண்டிருந்தார்.

அவர் ராமலிங்க பட்டிடம்,""தட்டில் என்ன வைத்திருக்கிறீர்கள்?'' என்று கேட்டார்.

""ஓரிக்கையில்(காஞ்சிபுரம் அருகிலுள்ள கிராமம்) மகாபெரியவருக்கு மணிமண்டபம் கட்டுகிறார்கள் இல்லையா! அங்கே பிரதிஷ்டை செய்வதற்கு ஒரு ஜோடி பாதுகையும், என் வீட்டு பூஜையறையில் வைக்க ஒரு ஜோடி பாதுகையும் தயார் செய்து கொண்டு வந்துள்ளேன். அது மட்டுமல்ல! என் தாயார் சுமங்கலியாக காலமாகி விட்டார். அவர் காலமெல்லாம் அணிந்திருந்த எட்டுபவுன் தங்கச் சங்கிலியையும் மணிமண்டப கட்டுமானப் பணிக்கு கொடுப்பதற்காக வைத்துள்ளேன்,'' என்றார்.

வேதமூர்த்தி அவரிடம்,""அதெல்லாம் சரி! பாதுகைகளைச் செய்வதாக இருந்தால், மணிமண்டபம் டிரஸ்டிகளிடம் அனுமதி பெற்றிருந்தீர்களா?'' என்றதும், "பட்'டுக்கு தூக்கி வாரிப் போட்டது.

""இப்படி ஒரு விஷயம் இருக்கிறதா! இது எனக்கு தெரியாதே! மைமூரிலே(மைசூர்) நல்ல சந்தனக்கட்டை வாங்கி, சுத்த பத்தமாக இருந்து சிறந்த தச்சரைக் கொண்டு செய்து வந்துள்ளேன்.

இப்போது என்ன செய்வது?'' என்று கலங்கிய நிலையில் வரிசையில் நின்றார் பட்.

அவரிடம் ""கவலைப்படாதீர்கள்,'' என்று ஆறுதல் சொன்ன வேதமூர்த்தி, பெரியவருக்கு கைங்கர்யம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்த ஒருவரை அழைத்தார். அவருக்கு வெண்கலக்குரல். மெதுவாகவே பேச வராது. அவரிடம் விஷயத்தைச் சொன்னதும், அவரும் பெரியவரிடம் போய் சொல்லி விட்டார்.

பிறகு வெளியே வந்தவர், தனக்கே உரித்தான உரத்த குரலில், ""எல்லோரும் அமைதியாக இருங்கோ! ஒரு அறிவிப்பு வெளியிடப் போறேன்! மணிமண்டபத்தில் பிரதிஷ்டை செய்ய ஒரு ஜோடி பாதுகையை ராமலிங்க பட் என்பவர் கொண்டு வந்துள்ளார். அத்துடன் அவரது தாயாரின் நகையும் எடுத்து வந்துள்ளார். இது எல்லாத்தையும் பெரியவரின் சந்நிதியில் சமர்ப்பிக்கிறேன்,'' என்றவாறே, அவற்றை வாங்கி பெரியவரிடம் ஒப்படைத்தார்.

பெரியவர் ராமலிங்க பட்டை முன்னால் வருமாறு அழைத்தார். அன்று உண்மையிலேயே பெரியவருக்கு உடல் நலமில்லை. ஆனால், திடீர் உற்சாகத்துடன் அந்த செயினை எடுத்து தன் வயிற்றின் மேல் வைத்து குழந்தை போல பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார். ஒரு ஜோடி பாதுகைகளை தன் பாதங்களில் அணிந்து கொண்டார். பிறகு இடது காலை தூக்கி வலது தொடை மேலாகவும், வலது காலைத் தூக்கி இடது தொடை மேலாகவும் போட்டு நடராஜரின் திருநடனம் போல காட்சி கொடுத்தார். இப்படியே நான்கு முறை கால்களை மாற்றிக் கொண்டார். பிறகு இன்னொரு ஜோடி பாதுகையைப் போட்டுக் கொண்டு கழற்றிக் கொடுத்து விட்டார்.

பெரியவர் நான்குமுறை அணிந்து கொண்ட அந்த பாதுகை தான், இப்போது ஓரிக்கை மணிமண்டபத்தில் நமக்கு காட்சி தந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறது!🙏🏻
