Ramakrishna’s Messages on Women and the Divine Mother

On this International Women's Day 2026 I am happy to celebrate and wish for all women with a few profound sayings of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa on women, Goddess Kali, and the Divine Mother. These highlight his unique vision of seeing all women as manifestations of the Mother and his deep devotion to Kali.

1. “All women are the embodiments of the Divine Mother. To look upon them as mere women is ignorance.”

2. “He who sees all women as the Divine Mother Herself will never fall into the snares of lust.”

3. “Without realizing God, one cannot truly know what a woman is. She is the very power of the Mother.”

4. “The Mother of the Universe has assumed the form of maya, the form of woman. To know this rightly is to be free.”

5. “When you see a woman, think of her as the Divine Mother. Bow before her mentally.”

6. “The Mother is the embodiment of all powers. She manifests as knowledge, as ignorance, as maya, and as liberation.”

7. “Kali is not only the goddess of destruction. To the devotee she is the tender Mother, full of love.”

8. “Call on the Divine Mother with a longing heart. The liquid of worldly desire dries up on seeing Her.”

9. “To the ignorant, Kali appears fearful. To the devotee, She is the all-loving Mother, the seed of immortality.”

10. “She who appears as the woman in the world is none other than the Mother of the Universe.”

11. “He who truly realizes that all women are manifestations of the Divine Mother may lead a spiritual life in the world.”

12. “The Mother is the power inseparable from the Absolute. She is the Sakti, the force behind all creation.”

13. “The devotee who worships Kali with sincerity finds joy even in this very life.”

14. “To me, Kali is not an abstract concept. She is the very essence of existence, the source of all creation.”

15. “She is the one who holds the entire universe in Her hands. To surrender to Her is liberation.”

16. “The Mother is both terrible and tender. She destroys ignorance and grants wisdom.”

17. “When you realize Kali as your own Mother, attachment to lust and greed disappears instantly.”

18. “The Mother is above holiness and happiness. She is the ultimate reality beyond all opposites.”

in My understanding I concluded with the above pearls that Women as Divine and Bagwan Sri  Ramakrishna insisted that every woman is a manifestation of the Divine Mother, not to be seen with lust but with reverence.
