I had brought the suggestion up with James a long while ago and his
suggestion was to bring up the idea on the list to see if there was
interest from several users. If other users would be interested in such
a tool, making yourselves heard on this list would help gauge the level
of interest.
Cheers,
Charles

At the practical level, googlegroups is undergoing some changes in
the new year. In particular, the wiki pages facility is disappearing, see:
http://groups.google.com/group/apps-discuss/web
to be replaced by the existing google sites capability.

I support the proposed wiki.
Am I to infer from James' remarks that we'd need to find a host?
Roger
I've never used the proposed replacement to google groups' wiki pages,
google sites, myself. Anybody know if all the members of this mailing
list could be allowed to edit the same site, turning it into the
pseudo-equivalent of a wiki?
If there is indeed enough interest on this list for an AMRITA wiki and
we have to find a different host, I would be willing to:
1) work with the current host of amrita-cfd.org to setup and maintain a
mediawiki installation (I have experience with that software package)
2) donate my own bandwith for a wiki. I buy hosting space for personal
sites and never come close to using my entire storing space or
bandwidth. As long as a wiki would not interfere with my own projects, I
have no problem hosting it.
Let's see if more interest arises from other AMRITA users and what the
options are.
Charles
No. Google are just wanting people to swap from app A to app B.
