A Disclaimer

As readers of "Amrit Kirtan" are aware the magazine, under the aegis of Amrit Kirtan Trust, is being published from Chandigarh since 1989. It has over the period of time, almost become synonymous with the name of the Hony. Editor, Dr. Jagir Singh, Retd. Deputy Director, Punjab School Education Board, and presently Chairperson of Department of Gurmat Sangeet, Punjabi University, Patiala.

However, recently some person, who got hold of the email addresses of the persons to whom the Magazine, "Amrit Kirtan" was being posted in PDF (Portable Document Format), has sent an email to all the addressees stating that she is going to start a Website Amrit Kirtan.org, and thereafter she also sent another email stating that she intends to start a magazine under the name and style of Amrit Kirtan Org.

This Disclaimer is being sent to all our well-wishers to inform them that Amrit Kirtan Trust, Amrit Kirtan Magazine or Dr. Jagir Singh, have no concern whatsoever with the said person. The Trust has its own website www.amritkirtan.com.

We have also sent a communication in this behalf to the Registrar for Newspapers in India, wherein we have stated as under:

WHEREAS “Amrit Kirtan” is a registered title - as a News Paper / Magazine under RNI Registration No.46788/89; AND
WHEREAS, it is reliably learnt that some one is trying to get a News Paper / Magazine, registered under the title “Amrit Kirtan.org” which is quite similar to our title “Amrit Kirtan”; AND
WHEREAS, allotment of such or similar title to another News Paper or Magazine, is bound to be misused and create confusion amongst the readers & clientele of our News Paper / Magazine - “Amrit Kirtan”;
It is therefore, hereby requested that the title “Amrit Kirtan.org” or any other similar title which wholly or partially resembles “Amrit Kirtan” may please not be allotted to any one.
