Scholarship Program Specialist: The role of Scholarship Program Specialist is to administer and develop the scholarship programs and the community development program. This role executes the programs, activities and initiatives of the division in coordination with the scholarship recipients, relevant education authorities, partners on field and IDB departments under the technical guidance of senior staff and the Division Manager.
Key Accountabilities:
Participate in the annual work plan and budget preparation activities.
Support and provide input to the strategy and impact studies related to IDB’s scholarship programme, namely, the Scholarship Programme for Muslim Communities in Non-Member Countries (SPMC), M.Sc. Scholarship Programme (MSc), Merit Scholarship Programme (MSP) and the Community Development Programme (CDP).Contribute to the development and review of policies and procedures of the Division.
Explain the policies and procedures to the IDB Governors’ Offices and other partners and conduct orientation programmes during missions and partnership events.
Respond to queries by the IDB Governors’ Offices, Counterpart Organizations (CPO) and other stakeholders for implementing the Scholarship Programme.
Review and assess applications for scholarship programmes (SPMC, MSc, MSP) and CDP events, namely, Excellent Performance Award (EPA), Excellent Leadership Award (ELA) and Community Development Workshop (CDW).
Conduct periodic review exercises for monitoring and evaluating the performance of scholarship recipients.
Provide clarifications and administrative support to recipients during the scholarship program tenure.
Respond to technical queries by the IDB Governors’ Offices, Counterpart Organizations and other partners for implementing the Scholarship Programmes, namely, SPMC, MSc and MSP and the Community Development Programme.
Communicate and follow up with Counterpart Organization (CPO) and graduates for execution of Post Study Activities (PSA) and ensure membership in IDB Graduate Association (IGA).
Provide coordination and clarification to various stakeholders for major events, namely, EPA, ELA and CDW.
Initiate reimbursements, check disbursements, validate status and related activities under SAP and follow up for the timely release of approved payments to beneficiaries.
Support in the implementation of various annual scholarship events to be conducted by the division, such as:
Education Development Seminars (EDS)
Regional Community Development Workshops (CDW)
Excellent Leadership Award (ELA) and Management Development Programme (MDP)
Excellent Performance Awards (EPA
Any other events as assigned by the Division Manager.
Guide and monitor establishment of IDB Education Trusts, IDB Graduates’ Associations and other legal issues.
Contribute to the design and implementation of activities for the IDB Scholarship Programmes, namely, SPMC, MSc and MSP and the Community Development Programme (CDP) for various stakeholders such as:
Guidance & Counselling Activities (GCA) for Students
Alumni Development Activities (ADA) for Graduates
Capacity Building Activities (CBA) for Partners
Conduct specific research and benchmark studies under the technical guidance of senior staff.
Plan and implement orientation sessions for various stakeholders
Contribute to the development of a learning and development kit for the Division’s staff. Prepare periodic and ad-hoc reports and support the periodic assessment and reporting on the performance of partners as and when requested by the management.
Develop content for the publishing of Amanah Newsletter for IDB Scholarship stakeholders.
Coordinate between Graduate Networks for official communication from Scholarship Division stakeholders, namely, IDB Governors’ Offices, Universities, CPOs, IETs, IGAs, ISAs and HSCs. Job Requirements: Academic and Relevant Experience Requirements:
