Problem:

When I create a .ampl, .mod, .dat, or .run,  file and enter ampl code, there is no syntax colouring, although their all been opened with AMPL Editor.

Troubleshooting:

I checked, and i have jdk 1.7 installed. Also JAVA_HOME variable seems to be correctly assigned.

I looked for an unchecked option in the Window -> Preference  menus, but could not find anything.

How can I activate this feature?

Thanks in advance,

Eduardo Hulse

Dear Eduardo,

have you created an AMPL project first, and added the files to that project?
Also: does the application give any warning at startup?

Hi Christian,

Yes, I created an AMPL project first and added the files to that project.

Currently I am using a trial version (with expired license), but just today I realized that this feature never really worked. Since tha license expired I do receive a warning message at startup saying AMPLDev functionality is limited. Since I am in process of buying a license I would liket to know if I will be able to use this feature...

Dear Eduardo,

this is very, very strange as I am using Ubuntu 13.04LTS 64 bits at this very moment and it works fine. My guess is that it is only the license problem.
To be 100% sure, try writing to Nish, he might be able to supply you with a new trial license, so that you can test the feature by yourself.
