I am trying to save a new mod file in a new directory and AMPL is not allowing me to do that. It gives me the following error - "Save Directory location is not valid" (see the attached pic).Could you please provide a solution for this. thanks

It seems that you don't have write permission in the directory. Please make sure you have a write permission in the directory that you intended to save.{#HS:594801047-9376#}

I have checked for folder permissions and I do have write permission. It won't allow me to save. I even created c:\new_folder and tried to save in that folder, it would not allow me to do that.

It seems this problem is very specific to users in this thread. I am unable to replicate this at my end.
You may try again with a fresh installation of amplide from https://ampl.com/dl/IDE/amplide.win64.zip
Please see https://ampl.com/products/ide/ for detail instructions.
