I am having a problem processing piecewise linear terms using 64-bit
AMPL Jan-2008 build. Any help appreciated.

Are you saying something that runs fine with 32-bit AMPL does not work
with the 64-bit version? If that is true I would send the problem to
AMPL. They will be interested.

I doubt anyone can help you much, given your very vague description of your
problem. Can you say specifically what files and commands you entered into
AMPL, and what messages or displays you received as a result?

I have been in contact with David Gay and he informed me that the new AMPL Version >= 20080219 probably fixed the bug. The attached run and data files can give you an idea of the problem if you use AMPL Version 20080102 (x64-win64). When you run Test1.run in AMPL it gives the following message:

Error at _cmdno 4 executing "let" command
(file test1.run, line 25, offset 763):
piecewise-linear term has 51736 slopes, 51802 breakpoints
