Dear Sir/Madam,

I am trying to use solver BARON for my nonlinear MIP model. Each time I try, after very few seconds I receive the termination message "CPU time limit reached", this is in spite of the fact that I have set the following for the maximum cpu time limit:
option baron_option 'maxtime=-1';

By the way I am using the BARON version 16.4.4 in AMPL modeling environment.

I was wondering if you could guide me how can I solve this issue.

Thank you.

Best regards,

Azadeh,

Your syntax seems correct. Instead of -1, you could provide a very high number for Max CPU time and check if the Barron is getting that number. If Barron is getting the new CPU time correctly , please make sure that you choose the right option for the solver.

Thanks,
Paras

Not sure if it matters, but the documentation shows the options syntax as using "baron_options" (plural): option baron_options 'maxtime=-1'
