AMPL trouble

I got a license ampl.lic file from a student trial form I filled out. I searched but there is no ampl.lic file to replace it with in the package I downloaded. I get an error message every time and I don't understand where to download a different AMPL exe because it directs me to the same link every time. Help?

It appears that you downloaded the AMPL IDE add-on rather than the complete AMPL package. Delete amplide.win32 from your desktop and instead follow the instructions under "AMPL IDE download for Windows" at http://ampl.com/try-ampl/download-a-free-demo/. That download package does include an ampl.lic file.
