Indeed a time-limit option does not seem to be listed in the SNOPT documentation,
www.cam.ucsd.edu/~peg/papers/sndoc7.pdf
To see if maybe there is an undocumented option for this purpose, you could contact the lead developer, Philip Gill; his contact information is given in the documentation as pg...@ucsd.edu, http://www.cam.ucsd.edu/~peg.

Subject: [AMPL 6091] Time limit with snopt
Hello,
I've had a really hard time finding a way to enforce a time limit when solving a problem with snopt through AMPL. I managed to stop the solver after a given number of major or minor iterations but I can't find a way to tell him to stop after say 60 seconds. It seems to be the only solver which does not have this option but I need to use it and I can't let the solvers run forever.
I would be a great relief if somebody could help on this one.
Jeremy
I agree -- there are some iteration limits for SNOPT, but there doesn't seem to be any way to set a time limit. Any time limit has to be enforced from within the solver program, so AMPL cannot enforce a time limit if the solver doesn’t provide an option for one.

Dear Jeremy,
I am actually interested in enforcing a time limit with SNOPT. Did you get any further insight?
