I’ve downloaded AMPL Command Line for students (Demo Version) on my mac a couple of days ago and since then I’ve been trying to solve an operations research problem unsuccessfully. At the end of the terminal window it says:”Cannot find cplex”. Even though the cplex file is in the same directory (ampl.macosx64 folder). I would really appreciate if you could give me a solution.

I've followed the instructions for starting command-line AMPL given on the webpage but it just doesn't work.
I've tried using:
option solver cplex;
option solver './cplex';
option solver ./cplex;

but still doesn't work :(

HELP!!

Here is a screenshot of the AMPL Command Line demo version running in a Terminal window on macOS.  Model and data files are loaded and then CPLEX is successfully run:

Note that if you have the folder ampl.macosx64 on your desktop, the first command should be "cd desktop/ampl.macos64 rather than the command shown.  The AMPL command "option ampl_include models;" gives access to the folder of examples distributed with the demo.

Please try posting a screenshot of your session where cplex is not found.  (Press Shift-Command-4, then space, then click on the Terminal window; the screenshot file will appear on your desktop.)  Or, copy the entire contents of the Terminal window and paste it into an email.
