Is there someone out there working on a minimalist web-player UI? Maybe something that can be easily accessed on a smartphone?

The current UI is very much computer-browser oriented, reach and full featured but overkill and pretty unusable on a smartphone.

I don't even see any theme repository (or a themeing guide), even though Ampache provides a way to use custom themes.

Hello Roberto,

Yes, Ampache started well before smartphones became popular and was designed for the desktop.

Most users enable the Ampache Subsonic api and use a Subsonic client on an IPhone or Android phone.

If you have an Android phone, try "Power Ampache" from the Play Store. I don't know if an app was built for the IPhone.

The next version of Ampache will be based on the Laravel framework and will have small screens planned into the design.

So I guess it makes no sense to work on a new UI with the current framework...
Is that Laravel based Ampache planned for a specific date?

I already run Power Ampache on my Android phone, but I am only half happy with it.

Sorry to say that there are only two active developers: Myself and Manuel who works on the translations when he has time.

So while solving user issues and possible Ampache bugs, there is no time for enhancements on the current debug version. Also I am prevented from issuing a specific launch date: Learning the efficient use of the Laravel framework and untangling the current mixed php/javascript logic of the debug version to apply to Laravel is quite a learning process.
