OpenIDEO is a global open innovation community with more than 50,000 members. OpenIDEO members work together to create innovative concepts to solve global problems in the areas of health, education, sustainability and social change. OpenIDEO Meetups tap into the power of real-life collaboration to help strengthen the online network, extend its reach to local communities, and increase the impact of the social innovation challenges.
In the first OpenIDEO Meetup in Shanghai, we will build upon the current OpenIDEO challenge on urban safety and explore how we might use mobile technology to make cities safer. We will work in groups of five to understand what makes safe cities safe, identify factors that make us feel safe or unsafe in public spaces, then brainstorm ideas to use mobile technology to make cities safer. Finally, we will share our insights and ideas on the online OpenIDEO platform, so that the global community might build upon them.
