![]() AMO Island integrates experimental programs in our Living Learning Lab, our 3D creative space in Second Life. We offer space to a community of artists designing new works for virtual worlds and digital media; you can join us any Thursday for the ACTION DANCE with a nonprofit in the spotlight every week from 6-9PM! ManorMeta will be opening again soon and the Integral Interactives meet every Monday at noon on AMO. This week you can also join us live in Los Angeles for a double feature fundraiser for OYA; join us anytime! |
AMO has been busy building the new AMO Island and Game in Second Life! We open up tonight with the AMO Action Dance, a weekly mixer for nonprofit leaders, educators and those interested in making waves through digital media. AMO Studio now offers Custom Design Services for Second Life, web worlds and other digital adventures. We have a small tech-saavy team along with interns from local and international design schools joining us at AMO. Special commissions are taken by request to Evonne Heyning, Creative Director. Pick up AMO shirts at GoodStorm! Buying OYA designs and other shirts helps us raise money for upcoming installations and art projects in our community. You are also welcome to donate art and building supplies of all types to our green living installations and camps coming up this summer and fall. |
People often ask in crisis like Darfur how can we really affect and bring change? Being a witness is one of the first ways you can help; watch this video and share what you see with a friend today. Our friends Gabriel, YuenLin and Consuela from the Camp Darfur events are now in Chad sharing these refugee stories in live daily videoblogs. Visit the Enough Project or Darfur Wall for simple actions you can do right now, and share these stories with your friends; awareness, divestment, political advocacy and direct aid are needed now by you and your 100 closest friends. |
The OYA Installation will open in Black Rock City late this August and we need your help to make this new energy experiment possible! Brent Heyning of the Toyshoppe along with Ryan Wartena at MIT and Elizabeth Marley of Growing Architecture have developed an energetic deity that creates electricity, light and rapidly growing crystals within a simple sculptural form. Help support new types of energy systems that are effecient, green and sustainable! Look for In Kenzo's Go Green Guides late this summer or stop by Amoration to make a gift and help us build this $3000 experiment in energy.
