Hello. I want to know if there is a way to control presentations with amora without install the server. Some times you don't have privileges to install the server on the desktop. I only want to pass the slides. Thank you.

You need amora server to being able to use the application. But pay
attention that you can run the amora server in your home directory (as
a matter of fact, I do development of amora running locally compiled
executables).

If you can't install it in the system, just compile and run from your
home directory (amora server doesn't require special privileges to
run).

Best regards

Ok, but there are some bloetooth mouse that works with Linux/Windows
without need to run any server. You only need to have bluetooth at
your pc. Is it possible to adapt amora to work like that? I only need
to pass the slides... Nothing more.

What you are thinking about is HID (Human Interface Device) which is a
protocol between a device (e.g. mouse/keyboard) and a PC.

As a matter of fact, there are some Sony-Ericson cellphones that
support that (the main advantage is not requiring a server component).

I think it is possible to code something similar in Amora client side,
but there is one disadvantage (you cannot transfer thumbnails of
windows using this design).

If you are willing to code it, we discuss further details in amora-
devel group.

Ok. Maybe do a mini-amora :) Only to pass the slides. I can code it...
But do you think that it will only work with some Sony-Ericson
cellphones?

I meant that sony-ericson *currently* support this way (HID), but
obviously it should be possible to code the same in whatever cellphone
maker device.
:-)

Adenilson,

Does amora server work at Windows?

From the 'fine' man page:
"
The server (amorad) is written in C using Xlib and XTest to send
events
for X session and the POSIX socket API for I/O. It must be
started by
the user, inside a valid X session.
