Hey,
First off, I love the software - it's really pretty and easy to use.
I have one small problem, I was hoping to use it with my Asus EEEPC
701, but it has the wrong version of libc6 (2.3.2 instead of 2.3.6)
and libbluetooth2 is only 3.7-1.
Am I basically toast or has anyone had any luck with a workaround?

Alex.

Are you trying to install any version of the packaged server (I'm not
sure if those are going to work in Eee PC)?

I would suggest you to try to compile it from source, you can access
more information at:
http://code.google.com/p/amora/wiki/how_to_install_source

Best regards

Hi Adenilson,
Thanks for your reply. I am trying to compile from source, and
suffering from the difficulties
of version differences. I have apt-get'd libluetooth2 and other
described libraries, but I get
the following output from ./configure:

checking for LIBBLUEZ... configure: error: *** BlueZ development files
not found! you need it to build Amora Server.***

thanks for your help,

Alex.

I think libbluetooth-dev is missing. Try to run: $pkg-config --cflags
--libs bluez
and report what is the result.

Hi,
apologies for the long delay :)
it seems that the result of that command is:
-lbluetooth

Looks like the libbluetooth-dev is not properly installed, as running
apt-get install libbluetooth-dev informs me that it is the latest
version.

Thanks again for your great help :)

If you got the package installed, it might be necessary to adjust the
PKG_LIBRARY_PATH library to point to the directory location of the
'bluez.pc'.

In Ubuntu, its located in /usr/lib/pkgconfig. So, it might be
necessary to do:
$export PKG_CONFIG_PATH=$PKG_CONFIG_PATH:/path/where/EEE/has/the/
pkgconfig/directory

And then try to compile amora server.

Best regards

Hi,
thanks for your help! It's really great to have such support.
I have decided to give up on the basic xandros on the eee, and move to
ubuntu hardy.

Good luck with Ubuntu, its a great distribution. If you succeed to
compile amora and make it work in Eeepc, please report back.

Best regards

Adenilson
