Hi,

I just found out about Amora, and it looks like exactly what I need.
I installed the SIS on the Nokia E65 and it appears to be running ok
on the client side. I also installed the server on Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy,
and start it up in a terminal window with amorad. It appears to start-
up correctly and is listening for connections.

I then try starting the client on the phone and I get the welcome
screen with the penguin sleeping "ZZZ" and the amora icon with a red
circle and line through it. I then click on options/search devices
and see my paired ubuntu box. I select the computer name and then the
client just returns to the same sleeping start screen. It doesn't
seem to be able to see the server.

Any ideas? I read up online a bit, and it seems there may be a
possibility of an issue with Hardy's build of bluez-utils? Is this a
known issue? Any way to fix this?

Thanks!

Ok, I've been poking around and located the Debian latest version of
bluez-utils that is not yet released through Ubuntu:
http://packages.debian.org/sid/bluez-utils

I installed bluez-utils_3.30-3_i386.deb and it fixed the problem. I
guess it just needed the latest bluez-utils. I'm not sure what
aspects of the update fixed it, but it worked thankfully.

I'm loving amora! This was exactly what I needed!

Dear Friend

I'm really sorry to not answering before (being buzzy lately, you
known?). But yeah, Hardy has a Bluetooth faulty package, you can see
more details here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bluez-utils/+bug/227429

And also here:
http://code.google.com/p/amora/issues/detail?id=63

And the fix is to install the Debian sid package. Basically, the bluez
daemon in Hardy was not answering correctly to client requests
concerning which services are available in the host.

Best regards

Adenilson

Yes, that was the exact issue. It is working wonderfully now with the
Debian sid package. Hopefully they will include that in the Ubuntu
packaging soon to avoid problems for others.
