Hi,

Google is closing yet another one of their services. And this time
it's Google Code. It will be shut down beginning of 2016:

http://google-opensource.blogspot.ch/2015/03/farewell-to-google-code.html

There's is an exporter to github, which also exports Issues:

https://code.google.com/export-to-github/

I've done that(*) for Amora and all what has been exported is now here:

https://github.com/xtaran/amora

It even copied the issues and I was able to transfer the wiki pages
and screenshots, too.

I've also fine-tuned some stuff so far and updated the Debian package
with regards to new repository location (and modernized the packaging
in that run, too).

I also checked if we could open an organisation on Github, but
unfortunately https://github.com/amora is already taken (but looks
unused/abandoned). Alternative organisation name suggestions are
welcome. I'd be happy to transfer my Github amora repo to such an
organisational account.

(*) I did that three times and combined stuff from the latter two
tries before I was happy with the result. :-) So don't be confused
by repositories named amora-test and similar in my Github account.

Kind regards, Axel

Thanks for doing that, I tried yesterday but the exporter reported error (i.e. server overload, try again later).

Perhaps we could contact github and claim the unused amora repo?

Hi Adenilson,

good to see that I'm not the only one who's still caring after all
these years. :-)

Yeah, that's partially the reason why I had to merge results from
multiple tries: The third try got all the committer mappings right,
but failed to import all issues. (Both, the first and second try had
like 47 open and 38 closed issues, the third try only like 15 and 27
and I've got a "export failed" mail from Google afterwards.)

So I used the git commits generated in the third try and force-pushed
them into the repo generated in the second try to get both: Proper
committer mappings and all issues.

Yeah, I wondered about that, too. I'll file an inquiry to take over
the namespace after I've sent this mail.

That account was classified as "inactive" according to Github's Name
Squatting Policy[1] and hence we got the namespace. I've opened an
organization named "amora" at Github and sent invites to all former
amora contributors which I've found on Github:

https://github.com/amora

I've also transfered my amora git repo to it. It's now at

https://github.com/amora/amora

I'd make Adenilson a second admin for the organization. But I think
needs to accept my invitation first. Ademar already accepted the
invitation as I just saw. Yay! :-)
