Hi - I belatedly added some more events to this week's Amnesty
calendar, and the Allentown group's meeting location has changed, so I
thought it would be simplest to re-send the weekly calendar. Please
refer to this one instead of the one from yesterday. Thank you.

7:00 pm
Moravian College: Speakers on Iran and Human Rights
Where: Haupert Union Building, Moravian College, Bethlehem PA
Prof. Arash Naraghi of the Religion and Philosophy departments
and Faramarz Farbod of the Political Science Department will speak on
post-election Iran and human rights. Both are native Iranians and have
been critical of the present Ahmadenijad government's record on human
rights, especially after the recent elections and the subsequent
beatings, imprisonments and torture. Sponsored by Amnesty
International at Moravian College.

8:45 pm
UPenn - Evening of Action for Burma
Where: Huntsman Room G86, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia PA
Join Amnesty at Penn and more than 50 college campuses nationwide in
an evening of awareness and action over the situation in Burma. For
years, Burma's military regime has carried out brutal human rights
abuses against its own people. To learn more about the situation, we
will be screening the documentary "Crossing Midnight" which recounts
the compelling story of brave health workers who risk their lives to
bring medical care to civilians in Burma's conflict areas. After the
film, we will take action by urging ours Senators to sign a letter
circulating in the Senate to call on the UN to open a Commission of
Inquiry in Burma. The people of Burma have been waiting for freedom
far too long and they need their voices heard!
