*******AMNESTY BOARD MEETING******* READ ENTIRE EMAIL

Assalam Walaikum fellow board members,

This year's Club Fair is on Monday, September 16th, the Monday of the second week of school -- aka just SIX DAYS AWAY! That's a really short time away, and we need to prepare. We NEEEEEEEED to have an Amnesty Board Meeting sometime this week. The board meeting will be this WEDNESDAY, September 11th, at the beginning of 10th period, meet up in front of the library. Is this date/time okay with everyone?

During this meeting, we have a ton of things to discuss and figure out. So no fooling around, and we must meet each other as soon as possible to get work done. 

We need to accomplish a number of things:

CLUB FAIR

- Figure out everything about the Club Fair

          . Will all the board members be present at our table?

          . Who else will be there to represent and support Amnesty?

          . What should we display on the table? What materials do we need?

          . Should we bring candy/chocolates?

          . Should we hand out anything like flyers/cards?

GENERAL ADVERTISING/PUBLICITY

. Posters in the hallways

. Daily Announcements 

. Wolverine TV

. Facebook

. Etc.

WEEKLY MEETINGS

- Figure out IF and HOW we might change the day of the week that Amnesty takes place

- Precisely map out everything for our first meeting 

          . Introductions? 

          . Icebreakers? 

          . Food? 

          . Videos? 

          . Power points/Prezis? 

          . Flyers?

- Map out a rough draft of what the rest of the month's meetings will be like

- Create a list of human rights issues and campaigns we want to focus on, and show this list on the first day of Amnesty and ask if the members would like to add anything they feel is important

- Think about possible speakers and events

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE GIRL (This should be our big Fall event)

- Figure out how we will make this an official celebration in our school (Saima is the VP whoohooo!)

- Figure out how we will celebrate/raise awareness

            . Raise money through bake sale? Some other type of sale?

            . Put up event posters

            . Screen the film in Room 131? (I might be able to get it at a discount of $175. But would we need to pay for it, or would the S.O. pay for it?)

AS YOU GUYS CAN CLEARLY SEE, we have a million and one things to figure out in a very short period of time! I really want all of us to come with our ideas ready and functioning so we can have a really stimulating and pumped up meeting and get a lot of work done and most importantly, get organized!

I'll be printing out this whole mess of a list I made for us on Wednesday and I'll take notes on it as well.
