Salam guys! I just got an email about two Amnesty webinars being held this week which focus on fundraising in student groups. There's one today, and on Thursday. You guys should try to "attend" them! I'm doing the one tonight since there's no school. But you guys should do it as well!

Being a student activist means not just being skilled in organizing events, campaigning and outreach, but also fundraising to ensure that your group has the funds it needs to do human rights advocacy.  Fundraising can also help support your group's travel, including to the 2014 Annual General Meeting (now open for registration)!

 

To help your fundraising, we will be holding two webinars entitled Fundraising Is Human Rights Work THIS week!

 

These webinars will go over fundraising basics for Amnesty student groups. The webinars are open to all AIUSA student group members interested in learning more about fundraising. Student group members who attend this webinar will:

• Learn how to locate the resources they will need to access to fundraise successfully for Amnesty work including online tools like kickstarter, indiegogo, etc
• Learn fundamentals of fundraising work such as letter writing campaigns, on campus events, and fundraising parties
• Understand the common mistakes made in fundraising
• Develop the foundation to fundraise to attend the AGM or other Amnesty events
