INDIGO GIRLS
A great and long time Amnesty Int'l supporter is coming to your area on:
VOLUNTEERS:
RN'R (Amnesty USA) concert tabling; looking for 2 volunteers
Arrive ~ 45 minutes before doors open to the public to set up the table (table is provided by the venue)
Staff the table and collect signatures on actions
Volunteers are required to do simple follow up and follow through after the concert.
I need full names, email address, and phone # of each volunteer in order to sign them up,
***Spots are filled on a first-come first-served basis***
Transportation and parking are on you own.
And here is a short 'how to' video a high school AI member did last year on tabling at concerts
If you can volunteer, send me (Angie) and email (or simply "Reply" to this one), with the date, city, and tour
More details will go to the volunteers about 10 days before their concert dates, along w/ common actions we all use on the tour to have a stronger voice. There will be room to add an action of your own.
If you are not available, please forward this on to other responsible and reliable persons you know who may be able to help.
HOW:
RN'R teams with artists, managers, film-makers, promoters, and venues during public and performance events (like concerts). We activate a network of local activists and fans to impact change for a human rights. Using concert events, RN'R promotes action, awareness, and education.
WHAT:
RN'R cultivates community outreach by using local volunteers and activists, to energize, engage, and encourage event patrons to stand up and take action. RN'R features actions performers support, and unites performers, artists, and film-makers to a global network of local activists and fans to impact change. Rock with Rhythm N' Rights.
CASE UPDATES; DOES THIS WORK:
YES having petitions at concerts really works.
1999-end of 2017 over 5498 concerts covered; 2001-end of 2017 over 707,324 signatures collected!
