Artist Rendition of Joshua and Thomas Ammons

[Georgia on My Mind]

Marietta Ammons Prevost of the Alabama Ammons Family has given us
something very special. With her remarkable artistic ability, she has
created for us something that will have lasting significance.

Utilizing the photographs of family members you have posted on the
site, Marietta has taken specific physical attributes from
descendants of each of the brothers and combined them into her
artistic interpretation of what these individuals may have actually
looked like.

We have known all along that technology did not provide us with their
images from the period in which they lived. This effort provides us an
opportunity to somewhat humanize our long deceased relatives.

Speaking personally, I can attest to the fact that as I continue to
work on their burial site in South Carolina, these images give me a
much closer identity with these very special ancestors.

We thank our Alabama cousin for her willingness to tackle this
project.

These are very nice. They may not be digitally precise "photographs,"
but they will certainly have a place with my family pictures.
