We will be heading to Marlboro County in early April to erect the
monument honoring our beloved long ago deceased ancestors. The eight
and a half foot oblisk is now finished at the Walker Monument facility
in Elberton Georgia. It was constructed of polished granite and is in
three sections. It has the Ammons name inscribed on the lower section.
The installer from Bennettsville SC will pick it up at the factory and
transport it to SC. We will install it sometime in early April when
weather permits. We also plan to overseed the cemetery with permanent
bermuda. The fence around the site will be installed in early June and
the wording of the historical marker to be erected on US 15 is
presently being compiled. We will be posting pictures on the AFHA site
of the actual erection of the monument.

We are planning a dedication ceremony at the site in Marlboro County
sometime in the future. We will notify everyone well in advance so
anyone wishing to attend can make plans.

We would like to remind everyone that the second annual Ammons
Family Reunion is scheduled for Saturday, July 31, at the Holly
Springs Baptist Church in Franklin NC.
