TJ, I feel confident that James Neal of Atlanta can help you on this.
He was at the Reunion and has done some fantastic research on the NC
and North Georgia Ammons group. James, I am sure will be more than
glad to help. He is related to the Blue Ridge, Fannin County GA group.

TJ,
Joshua F. Ammons is burried in Upper Wilscot Baptist Church Cemetery
in Fannin County Ga. This is about 5 mills SE of Morganton, GA off GA
Hwy 60. The Wilscot Church today is out on Hwy 60 but the cemetery is
at the location of the old church about a mile from the church off
what is called Daves Road. A lot of the Daves are burried in this
cemetery that it is often refered to as the Daves Cemetery. I think
that Margaret his wife is burried next to him there but not 100%
sure. It has been a few years since I was there and I can not find
the notes that I took.

Joshua F. is not the father of James Grayson Ammons. They are
brothers. Both are sons of John R. and Martha Buchanan Ammons. James
Grayson Ammons is my Great Grand Father. James Grayson Ammons and
Laura Cowan did have a son named Joshua Ammons. He married Lela Beryl
Jones and is burried in Murphy, NC.

Hi,
Thank you so much! Also for the correction. I did know better but got in a
hurry. My maternal Grandfather, Richard Alex. Ammons was a younger half-
brother to Joshua and James G. "Alex" (as he was known) was the son of
John R and Martha Higdon Ammons. I found a picture of the Cemetery on
Find-A-Grave. It looks pretty wild, overgrown and neglected. Hopefully
a brave volunteer will answer my request for a photo of his headstone.

I went by to get some pictures for you and found out that my memory
was not as good as I thought it was. It was not Joshua F. that was
burried at Upper Willscot. It was Rev. Jacob Allen Ammons and his
wife Pernatha that were burried there. My mother called someone and
they told her that Gail Atcheson who lives in Cherokee County the same
county I live in could probably answer the question, that she had done
research on the Ammons family. I talked to Gail last night and it
turned out that she was the great-granddaughter of Joshua F. Ammons.
He and his wife Margaret Ammons are both burried at Harmony Baptist
Church Cemetery at Blue Ridge, GA. I will probably be in Blue Ridge
again next month. I will get a photo of the grave markers at that
time and post them for you. Sorry about the error, hope I didn't mess
up your records. Until about a year ago a web site called
cemeteysurveysinc had photos of nearly all the cemeteries in Fannin
County as well as many others in the North Georgia, Western North
Carolina and Eastern Tennessee. They also had a lot of other records
posted that had been provided to them in the way of marriage licenses
and death certificates. For some reason most of the information has
been removed. I was getting lazy using it because it saved a lot work
and time. Also something else you may have already discovered. John
R Ammons' two families were closer related than half brothers and
sisters. the two Martha's, Martha Higdon and Marth Buchanan were
first cousins. Martha Buchanan's father James and Martha Higdon's
mother Eva were both children of James Buchanan and Martha Black.

Thank you so much! Great to know where he was laid to rest. One more puzzle
I wanted to get solved.
A wonderful volunteer has been working on this project. She had to put it on
hold because of the rain. I have informed her of the change in burial sites.
She lives close to Morganton, Fannin Co.
I do have the information you gave below. I have met Opal Willis, author
of the "Leonard Higdon and Known Descendants" book and do have a copy.

I have also used that website, and wondered why I can no longer find it.
A short while ago, I posted a picture on the Ammons Heritage site.
However, I neglected to title it. I didn't know how to delete it and redo.
It says Ammons/Houston, the picture is of Joshua Furman Ammons, taken
In 1905, Georgia.

Thank you again for all your help.....TJ
