This is as far back as I can find for SURE. I have documents, court
records, pension records, will that tie the family together. Any help
welcome.

HENRY AMMONS1 was born 1780 in Pennsylvania, USA1, and died 24 Dec
1861 in Millsboro, Washington Co, PA. He married AMY BOWEL 09 Sep 1819
in Fredrickstown Washington Co. Pa.. She was born in Fayette Co, PA,
and died in Millsboro, Washington Co, PA. They are both buried in
Millsboro Cemetery.
Residence: 01 Jun 1840, East Bethlehem, Washington, Pennsylvania, USA2
Children of HENRY AMMONS and AMY BOWEL are:

JOSHUA M AMMONS, b. 18 Mar 1820, PA; d. 08 Jun 1882, Millsboro,
Washington Co, PA. Married Rachel Swindler, both buried in Millsboro
with two grandchildren.
WILLIAM B. AMMONS, b. 13 Oct 1819, Pennsylvania; d. 18 Jan 1876,
Ancona Cem, Streator, La Salle Co Illinois. Wife Mary Ann the wife
buried in IA
ELI P. AMMONS, b. 1822, Pennsylvania; d. Streator, Illinois.wife Jane
Ryan both buried in Barnhart Cemetery, Streator, IL
DAVID BOWEN AMMONS, b. 1824, Greene Co, Pennsylvania; d. 03 Dec 1883,
Madison County, Ohio. Married Sarah Ford.
SUSAN AMMONS3, b. 1827, Washington Co, PA.
Dead by the time Amy Ammons filed for pension records, 1866 (she is
required to name all her living children)
Residence: 1850, Luzerne, Fayette, Pennsylvania3
HANNAH AMMONS, b. 1829, Pennsylvania; d. 08 Feb 1889, Streator,
Illinois. Married Amos Ammons both buried in Ancona Cemetery,
Livingston Co, IL
ISAAC H. AMMONS, b. 30 Sep 1830, Fayette Co, PA; d. 20 Jul 1913,
Streator, Illinois. Married Susan Ryan buried in IL
HENRY BOWEL AMMONS, b. 13 Sep 1834, Greene Co, Pennsylvania; d. 18 Apr
1912, Newton, Jasper, Iowa. Married Rachel Crago buried in Newton
Union Cemetery, IA
THOMAS FINLEY AMMONS, b. 25 Sep 1836, Fayette, Pennsylvania, USA; d.
10 Oct 1896, Greene, Pennsylvania, USA. Married Elizabeth Roseberry
both buried in Hewitt Cemetery, PA
JOHN AMMONS, b. 1939, Greene Co, Pennsylvania; d. 11 May 1866,
Millsboro, Washington Co, PA. Died from illness contracted during the
civil. Buried near parents in Millsboro Cemetery, PA

Candy, Is that a typo on JOHN AMMONS born in 1939? It must have been
1839 if he died in 1866. Do you have info on him being in the cival
war on the Northers side in Pa.?

He was in the 18th PA Calvary. I have a copy of a letter he wrote his
mother while on the battlefield, it was in his pension records. It is
on my web page if interested.
