Overview

The Philharmonic Chamber Choir is proud to present "Mendelssohn and Beyond" - an a cappella concert joining choirs worldwide in celebrating the 200th birth anniversary of Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy. He is the single most influential early 19th-century personality who connects the splendour of the Baroque period with the apocalyptic Romantic era.

The programme includes:
Felix Mendelssohn - Selections from partsongs for mixed chorus, Op. 41, 48, 59 and 88
Tian Hui Ng - Siehe! (Commissioned work)
Knut Nystedt - Immortal Bach
Arvo Pärt - Magnificat
Ildebrando Pizzetti - Due Composizioni Corali

Below are the details of the concert:
Date: 4* and 5 September 2009
Time: 8.00pm
Venue: Esplanade Recital Studio.
Price (excluding SISTIC booking fee**: $25, $20*** (Students)

*All proceeds from the 4 September 2009 performance will be donated to the School of the Arts, Singapore (SOTA), to support student development. All discounts are not applicable for the concert on 4 September 2009.

**Please add to above price $3 Booking Fee per ticket for tickets above $20 and $1 Booking Fee per ticket for tickets $20 and below. Charges include GST where applicable.

*** All discounts are only applicable for the concert on 5 September 2009. In addition, schools can only use the Tote Board Arts Grant to subsidise 60% (excluding GST) of ticket price for the concert on 5 September 2009.

For Teachers
Publicity - Teachers may use the attached EDM to inform students of the concert.

Administration - The document of proof  for schools to be eligible for the use of the Tote Board Arts Grant to subsidise 60% (excluding GST) of ticket price for the concert (5 September 2009 only) is attached.

Ticketing orders - Tickets can be booked online or bought at all SISTIC outlets. The Philharmonic Chamber Choir does not handle any ticket order request from schools. However, we kindly request teachers to send us the following information to hor.x...@gmail.com
to facilitate our choir administrators in compiling the Post-Performance Report:
1) Name of school;
2) Number of students attending the concert;
3) Category of ticket price
