This email serves to upate, inform you about what is expected from you for the coming concert: (pls fwd this to the neccessary emails)

1. Rehearsal Plans

PLEASE NOTE:

* All songs except Monring & Evening to be memorised when i come in for rehs from tmr.

This has already been annouced more than once and shd not come as a surprise to the choir.

 

* On Wed seniors will miss a reh - it will be nup to you to get updates on performance notes from juniors as we wont be running the songs again until Fri during concert run through

 

* There shd be no more note learning as ample time was given for sectionals. I will only be working on presentation, phrasing and placement of voice. Should there be any song that certain groups of singers are unable to sing, we will proceed to put the song aside and sing the next one as this would mean inefficient use of sectional time.

 

Sat 6pm - 7pm

Reh for combined songs - no more run through

 

Sat 2pm - 4.30pm

2. Repertoire preparations

* You should already have done note learning thru reading notes not thru memory (boys especially shd be looking at your interval jumps) I have already told you to infrm your theory teacher to do sight reading with you thru your impotant music scores since term 3 and am still waiting to hear the input of work from there)

 

* You shd have already marked off breath marks

* You shd already be in the midst of memorising your work

* You shd be able to sing decently with a good knowledge on vocal technique. Those who still cannot be taught, we should do something about this.

 

3. Concert Flow (We took out songs based on lack of reh time) : EMCEE SHD PREPARE SCRIPT BASED ON STAGE ENTRIES & EXITS

 

Concert now has NO intermission

4. Post Concert Music

We will read GO Lovely Rose and continue to fine tune Si Nian for 10th Nov

 

5. Vocal Training During the Holidays

On Sat mornings we can try to arrange for Vocal training for sections 2 hours each time at an average cost of $120 per session.We shd look into sending each section for a min of 4 sessions each. Still locating vocal trainers. Pls advise if Sat is best for all.

 

6. Nov & Dec Rehearsals

Will be taken by Ms Evangeline Tan. I will cfm again if she can make the proposed dates on your calendar. I had asked for end Dec dates so i could try to make it back but this request has not been looked into and a proper explanation has not been provided.

 

Please note that there should no longer be disruptions from Theory training at any of our rehs leading to SYF. Theory for sec 1s next year is possible during reh time but not for anyone else. It shd be done on your sectional day. I have told you(the comm) this a few times since term 3 and I expect that the information be passed on duely and the issue looked into.

 

For your exercise sets: Sit ups , push ups and yoga are all essential too. For 09 consider meeting instead early in the monring for sectionals and exercise.

7. Absent Singers

 

At every reh when a singer is absent without due explanation or without duely informing the right personnel, you shd always call theuir parents not their direct handphones. Truancy should not be tolerated from any singer young or old. We dont have the time to coach them again and again on what they had missed out because they r the ones who usually do not find out what happened at the previous reh and do nothing to make sure they are on top of their work.
