Going through Old Threads I found this ALiAS Annual Event, GEEKBATTLE. How about organising it this year again? We need an event for AYF anyways.

P.S. Not everything envolves learning or benefits, somethings are done for fun too :)

This sounds like a good idea, however, elaborate a little bit more specifically, how does the event go? What all is in your mind, and more specific details regarding how do we go about it.
One point i think we should discuss is Sponsorship, We will need a Sponsorship for prizes(as i can see in the event poster from the last GEEKBATTLE, it had good prizes), honestly, i am not interested in devoting any of my time to looking for sponsors.

Its great about organizing this event, being a member of the technical core committee of AYF, I will help you out in as many ways as possible.

Great! But this will involve everyone attending a meeting, which doesn't seem to be happening in last few meetings.

Since AYF is coming, I think it'll be nice to hold GEEKBATTLE again this year. Rather than a single quiz competition I'm thinking of holding series of events and using cumulative score to decide the winners.
Proposed events:
1. Quiz Competition
2. Typing competition
3. Blind Coding
4. Tie-breaker Rapid Fire
More events can be added to make it a fun activity, sponsorship would be required for Better prizes and more engagement. :)

What about competitive programming rather than a quiz?

Competitive Programming is a time taking and not really fun unless we have lots of really skilled participants.
I suggest creating a Registration Form asking participants to select what all competitions would they want and plan accordingly?

+1 Good idea,we should make a form and let them fill and then accordingly decide which event should be included.

What's the date? We need to plan accordingly to avoid last moment chaos.

Also, about sponsorship and/or prizes, what is to be done?

Sounds like a plan.
Proposed events:
1. Quiz Competition
Sounds like a good idea,
Lets have a meeting today at 10:00PM on hangouts for more details on this.
2. Typing competition
I think races between participants in the group of 5 is a good idea.
1st position is granted +5 points.
2nd; +4,
3rd; +3,
and a best of 3 races decides who goes to the next round, continue this till we have one winner. :)
3. Blind Coding
4. Tie-breaker Rapid Fire
Sounds like a good idea,
