From Sister Confianza:

After searching all the possibilities, and fervent prayer for God to make a way plain, we are finally seeing doors crack open for Annette to join us in Honduras!

Friends in Canada, who we worship with online daily at Pendle Hill (https://pendlehill.org/worship/join-online/), have agreed to host her at their home in Ottawa.  They wrote a letter of invitation and provided other information so Annette can apply for a Canadian visa.

There is a Honduran consulate in Montreal where Annette can apply for her Honduran visa.  I have spoken with the consul, who has happily answered all our questions, and will review Annette's documents ahead of the appointment to confirm that we have everything in order.

To apply for the Honduran visa, which gives her 60 days in the country, we have to provide a letter of invitation.  We are also preparing to get her temporary residency once she arrives so she can stay for up to 5 years during her monastic formation.  To apply for residency, she needs to be sponsored by a church or other non-profit organization in Honduras.  I spoke with Tito, secretary of the board of Comunion H, and he expressed delight in being able to help.  At their board meeting last Sunday, they approved it.  On Tuesday I learned that the board, in turn, asked the mayor to write the letter of invitation.  It was drafted by Sixto, another member of the board, who works at the municipal office (and is a former mayor), then reviewed and translated into English by me.  The mayor, who Sister Alegria has known since her early years coming to Limon, back when he was an elementary school teacher, signed the letters, and on Friday I sent digital copies to Annette and the person who is helping her with the applications.

I am so grateful that these doors are opening!  Please continue to pray that Annette is able to gather all the other needed documents, and that the Canadian and Honduran consulates approve her applications.  If all goes well, she may arrive in Honduras in another month!

Bendiciones,
Sister Confianza

PS Yesterday, I felt better than I have in a month, with energy and strength to do a big stove repair with clay, run errands on the bike, cook a meal over the fire, and work several hours on my permaculture project.  Praise the Lord!
