From Sister Confianza:

Last Wednesday, Annette was able to return to the Catholic diocesan center where she lives.  However, they were without power until this Tuesday.  She managed to get online occasionally to send us notes.  We are glad to have her joining us for prayers again now that she has WiFi back!  Sadly, five members of her extended family perished in hurricane-related floods in Haiti.  They are having a mass funeral tomorrow Friday.  Please hold Annette and her family in your prayers.  It is not easy for her to be in a foreign country at this time.

Yesterday, Annette had an appointment with the travel agent to finish her Canadian visa application.  Because it has taken so long to submit, the date for her appointment at the Honduran Consulate in Montreal (Nov 25 will be postponed, but we don't know the new date yet.  We are eagerly awaiting her arrival.

I have been in touch with our lawyer about the process for her to get temporary residency in Honduras.  (He did our permanent residency process back in 2014.)  Comunión H (the organization that owns this property, plans to reopen a children's feeding program in the upcoming year, and with whom I am working on the permaculture project) has agreed to sponsor her residency.  Today I gave Tito all the information on what they need to provide.  Annette will officially be coming as a volunteer for Comunión H.

It's going to cost a lot to get her residency.  The government asks for about $600 for a five-year permit.  The lawyer charges nearly $1,400, and asks for 60% up front.

Can you please help cover these costs? (see below for how to donate)

If you were considering making a year-end contribution, please do so now.  It takes time for money to get from the US to Honduras, and we want to start this process as soon as Annette arrives so she doesn't become illegal when her 60-day visa runs out.

Many thanks in advance,
Sister Confianza
