I desperately need to run diskdoctor on my harddrive. However, the computer
says "not enough memory." Is there some way to do this?

If this is the "Diskdoctor" original, my best advice to you is to
NOT run it. use DiskSalv instead by Dave haynie.
It will save you a major headache.

No, you don't, you are NEVER so desperate that you want to
run diskdoctor.

Yes, delete diskdoctor and get a better program, disksalv
(you can download a demoversion) or QBT (commercial) comes to mind.

Hello

He hasn't stated this, but if he means diskdoctor for PFS, it is a
different story. He has also failed to tell us what computer he has
and how much ram. ReOrg, for instance, can take a lot of ram to run
on a large partition, maybe PFS diskdoctor does too, and his partition
is too large for his amount of ram.

Of course if he is talking about the old diskdoctor from 1.3 OS, you
are absolutely right, it ruined more disks than it ever saved for me.

Not to mention Disk Doctor was never intended to be used on a hard
drive. In fact, the whole point was to make a basically ruined
floppy(that you had already transferred all the data elsewhere) into one
that was useable. Nowhere does it mention it will save the data. Yes I
have ruined a couple disks with this pooper. It is no wonder Commodore
removed it after 2.04

I never realized how lucky I was! DiskDoctor saved my figurative
life a couple of times, allowing me to make soft repairs on my 20M
Seagate (which was originally installed in that thing the name of
which I forget that rode the top of an A1K). Those were the only
times I used it, except to look and see how drives were set up.

Then they changed the way drives were set up, and it didn't work at
all anymore.
