Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

I'm not really familiar with newsgroups for Amiga and might not find my way
back. My email is:

Well, I have a 'dongle' which connects into the 23 pin video out of my
A1200 and converts it to a standard 15 pin VGA socket. You might be
able to get one of these on e-Bay. However, the main headache is
whether your A2000 has a screenmode that can be compatible with the
new monitor. I know AGA chipset amiga can do over 30Khz horizontal
refresh (which is essentially what the monitor will require) but I am
not so sure of the older ones.
Check your monitors folder on your work bench and see if you have a
'multiscan' monitor, or a 'productivity' screen mode. This came in
with newer ECS amigas (eg A600) and this allows 640x480 on a std VGA
monitor. If you're running WB3 or higher you might be able to use this
- also look for a monitor in your DEVS/monitor drawer called 'VGA
Only' - that might help.
However, as most Amiga programs pick and choose their own screen
modes, you might find that even if you boot your workbench in the new
VGA mode you'll not games etc running on this - get ModePro off
aminet - it allows you to specify particular screen modes for any
program - that will allow you to over ride default settings.
The other thing I would recommend is a program called 'MonEd' - I
think also on aminet - which allows you to tweak the output of your
amiga to best match your monitor.
...Alternatively, look out for Multiscan Microvitec monitors on e-Bay
- these fabled monitors would do ALL amiga screen modes and still
allow you to run workbench in 800x600 or higher.

As an alternative to what Chris said, you could buy a so called flicker
fixer or a scan doubler - this little tool plugs into the Amiga's RGB
output and has a VGA connector. Not too expensive, very easy to use.
Or buy a Zorro 2 graphic board with VGA output. Don't think about it if
you're not prepared to spend a lot of money...
