Hi all...

I've got an Amiga 2000 computer. I've got a harddrive controller installed
in the amiga 2000 computer that I unfortunately cannot identify. As such, I
cannot figure out what/where to download the necessary software so that I
can format the hard drive. Here are 2 very BAD pictures of the harddrive --
I accidently took the photo to close, but hopefully this will help a little
bit:

Although you cannot quite read it in the photos, the harddrive card says:
"Hard Disk Controller GX B-v0 8804"

Does anybody know where I can download the necessary software so I can
format the drive?? Right now, it is clear to me that when I first turn on
the computer, it is attempting to load from the harddrive. After a few
seconds, it gives up and loads from the floppy drive. When I get to the
desktop screen, it does NOT show the harddrive. I suspect this is becasue
the drive is not formatter yet.

For the life of me, I can't figure out how to format the drive if the
computer does not 'see' it on the desktop.

ANY HELP WOULD BE ENORMOUSLY APPRECIATED.

Judging from the limited pic and model number this is an IBM AT
controller. Easy check, is the card edge that connects to the computer
near the rear or the front?

To the rear it's an ISA card for the IBM AT ISA slots on the
A2000. That said, without a bridgeboard you really have no
use for this card and it's probably the older RLL type
controller. How many cables come off it?

Nope Angelo,
That is definitely a 2090a. Here is the pic of it

I also know this as I have 4 of these and 6 of the "non-a" non
bootable controllers. They make great coasters really!!

Couldn't tell from that very limited pic the poster presented.
It looked just like the controller I had with my 2088 Bridgeboard
for HD access.

Don't know what use it would be today though, as you say, a good
"coaster" ;-) If it's anything like the original Advantage controller
you can't put anything bigger than 540Mb on it and don't even think
about a CDROM.
