When I load up the software, and after I select various options (mostly just
guesses on my part since I have no idea how many cylinders, etc), it says:
"Device not PREPed"
Does anybody have any ideas how the heck I can format this harddrive??
Or, if anybody is selling a real cheap harddrive that I can simply use
instead already formatted for Amiga, please let me know how much you want
for it including shipping.
Thanks!

Didn't almost everyone in this group label this controller as crap and suggest
that you get 2091 controller with 6.1 or better 7.0 ROM chips??? come on !
You're trying to make a ferrari out of a piece of junk!
2090A sucks !!!! It will take you a billion headaches to get it prepped not to
mention good luck finding MFM drives.

yes you need all this info (cyl, tracks in order to prep the drive).
sigh honest, get a 2091 with 7.0 rom chips. if you want one let me know your
budget and i'll see if i can get one for you. (price is more than $50 though)

You are guessing the parameters? That's never going to work. A search in
google should find you the right parameters to use, search for Kyocera and
the model number of the drive.

No surprises there.

Having owned a 2090a before I can only suggest that you put the piece of
crap in the bin along with the drive and get something 100% better like a
2091.
