Hello,

I have a question?

How do i connect my amiga 1200 with wb 3.0 to my pc; a pentium 3 working
under Windows ME.
I want to tranfer some files from one to the other computer.

What kind of cables and / or software do i need and where can i get it.

Who can help me?

Thanks, William

There's a couple of ways you can do it, and it depends on how much money you
want to spend. A 10/100 PCMCIA NIC with Amiga-specific drivers slapped into
the side of the A1200 + A 10/100 NIC in the PC, using a peer-to-peer model
is one way of doing it. You can also go through the Nullmodem cable.

Just a couple of thoughts.

William,

One of the easiest and my favorite option is to use Amiga Explorer:

http://cloanto.com/amiga/explorer/

It works with either a null modem cable or over ethernet. It is very
simple to use. You are able to manipulate and copy files directly to
or from your Amiga. After you get it installed with a null modem, and
if you have an ethernet card you can access it with the Amiga Explorer
icon on your desktop like a drive that is attached to your computer.
Super program!

The way I did it was to hook up the PC and the Amiga through a
null modem cable. Using Miami on the Amiga side, and some specific
set up on the PC side, I got a PPP link going through the serial
cable. I set up an FTP server on the PC, using WFTP, and ran FTPMount
on the Amiga. Oh yes! And I had to run a Proxy program on the PC. I
think it was called Proxy+. It was freeware anyways. So not only
could I transfer files that way, I could surf the web with the Amiga
through the null modem cable, through the PC with its cable modem. I
don't recall how fast it was. I have a GVP IO-Extender and used the
serial port there since it's more robust than the native Amiga serial
port.

Sorry that I can not remember any more specific details. I did
this about a year and a half ago.
