Hi all,
I have been trying to get an IR image by running hiedr2mosaic.py on the 4 IR EDRs available for the image I am interested in (https://www.uahirise.org/ESP_037845_2210), but I get this error:

/opt/conda/envs/isis-asp/bin/hiedr2mosaic.py:357: SyntaxWarning: invalid escape sequence '\d'
  match = re.match("^.*?RED(\d)", filename )
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/opt/conda/envs/isis-asp/bin/hiedr2mosaic.py", line 475, in <module>
    sys.exit(main())
             ~~~~^^
  File "/opt/conda/envs/isis-asp/bin/hiedr2mosaic.py", line 409, in main
    if get_ccd(a) == options.match:
       ~~~~~~~^^^
  File "/opt/conda/envs/isis-asp/bin/hiedr2mosaic.py", line 359, in get_ccd
    raise Exception('Could not extract the CCD number from: ' + filename)
Exception: Could not extract the CCD number from: ESP_037845_2210_IR10_0.IMG

I cannot find anything related to IR processing on the documentation. I am not sure if other EDRs (like the REDs) should be given as well in the input.
Many thanks in advance for your time,
Erica Luzzi

The code next to that error says:

    Out of 'ESP_023957_1755/ESP_023957_1755_RED5_1.IMG', pull '_RED5_1',
    and extract the number 5.

It looks like your own file, ESP_037845_2210_IR10_0.IMG, has a different convention.

Maybe you can try with an older HiRISE dataset first, to see if something changed in the naming convention.

I guess the code could be easily modified to accept IR instead of RED as part of the file name, but I am not sure if that makes sense.

Hi Oleg, many thanks for your quick reply.
I just tried with an earlier acquisition (2009), and I get the same error. Would you mind giving me more indications as to how to change the code?
Thanks again,
Erica

This was filtered as spam for some reason.

I never used this program myself and I don't know if it is meant to be used with IR as opposed to RED data.

Maybe other folks have some insight.
