Hi Oleg,

It would be super handy if there was an ASP tool for querying the projected ground coordinate for a pixel location (col/row) in a raw image, given it's assocated camera and a DEM.

Since other tools, like sat_sim, require specifiying a raw image pixel positions as projected ground positions (given in DEM index coords), such a tool would be helpful for extracting these relevant ground position for the first/last image lines (using gdallocationinfo to get the DEM index).

(Mapproject alomost does this, but doesn't!... but I think it would be pretty simple to do ;) ).

Cheers! J

I added and documented the option --query-pixel in mapproject, where the pixel is for the raw image. It returns both lon, lat, height of the ground point and pixel col, row, height (all in double precision), as these can both be individually helpful.

For sat_sim, defining the orbit in terms of pixel coordinates of a DEM is convenient if all one deals with is one DEM, but is not portable if the DEM changes. May need to have longer term a way of using geodetic coordinates as an alternative approach.
