Hi,
Please help in below observation.
In the server, we are having 256 physical cores. we want to use
all the processing cores in point2dem and pc_align software.
When I set them using the switch "-threads", I am observing that
only around 10 to 12 threads are active and remaining are in sleep mode.
It also takes more time for bigger dataset of size more than 5GB.

How can I use all the processing cores reduce time?

Thanks and regards
John

The point2dem program is very I/O constrained, so there's only that much it can do with extra CPU cores. For pc_align, only some parts of it are parallized.

So there is not much that can be done here except perhaps running several of these types of work at the same time in parallel.

These programs are not as slow as stereo itself, so hopefully they don't take up that much resources overall.
