My friend moved into a new home just 6 months ago, and her dryer kept shutting off. The first company she called told her she needed a booster fan, but the real issue was a fire hazard—the roof vent cover had a screen, which is against code and manufacturer guidelines. She was lucky nothing serious happened. She had her dryer vent cleaned, and the company charged her $349. Now, our dryer is having issues too! It takes too long to dry clothes.
