Fellow horse lovers...

Currently, there is a group of wonderful American Saddlebreds at the farm of a Broker in PA. These horses have just a few days to find safe harbour, or they will once again make the trip to one of the sales in PA, where they will be at risk for challenging life on the road in the Summer heat- or as long as they last- or a trip in a jam packed truck of terrified horses heading to Canada- and a slaughter house.

Some of these horses still have their identities intact- some have lost their papers along the way- but I deeply believe that those folks who bred and raised them did not envision them winding up like this- they simply didn't realize when they ran them through a high quality sale, or sold them to make room for another prospect, that they would fall through the cracks of the horse world.

These horses are young enough, and sound enough, to make great using horses for families, and individuals looking to meet our breed. Time is running out, however, and they need YOUR help. By Friday, June 13, we must have enough funds raised to send them to their safe harbors, or lose them- until they wind up older, thinner, less sound and usable, worn out from a life on the road, in the kill pen at New Holland- or worse.

Please visit http://www.trot.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1915 to see how the effort to help these horses is going. I know times are tight-but if you can offer a home, pay the bail on a single horse, or even send a small donation- which will be tax deductible through the efforts of the bonafide 501.c.3, Another Chance for Horses, we can do this, and make a difference in the lives of these horses. Clean out your piggybank, look for that change in the sofa- we need every bit to see these horses do not continue on a downward spiral. These are OUR American Saddlebreds! Please help to show we care, and that we CAN take care of our own!

Thank you for your time, and consideration...

Julie
