to AmericanSaddlebreds
Travelling last weekend, the Dec issue of Delta's In Flight magazine
has an article on police horses. Saddlebreds are the FIRST breed
mentioned as being a breed that is desireable. They go on to describe
what makes a good police horse; size, not too quiet, trainable, look
for a horse that is curious, courageous and bold; a horse that can
take in a situation with feet firmly planted but attentive and
responsive. Their description nailed our breed, I thought! They even
said Arabs need not apply; they don't want flighty horses! Also said
many troops are going for draft crosses as the SIZE is a big factor-no
pun intended! I was thrilled to see this in a journal that is seen by
so many people....just wanted eveyone to know!
Cheers,
Callie
