Hi all,
Thank you for a wonderful last week with our American Culture course. This course and subject definitely has been one of my favorites, and I'm glad I was able to share my experiences and learn along with you.
Also, thank you for performing some wonderful skits. As much as I would have liked to have given you an actual grade, since I did not have a proper rubric, and because I had not informed the class whether or not I was grading the assignment, Co Nhi, Co Thu and I agreed that it is best to count the skit toward your attendance. Regardless, I'm glad you put so much creativity, research, and practice into your skit.
Attached are the two PPTs from this week. I've been getting some e-mails from you all, so let me make some points of clarification:
1) You can retrieve all notes through the Google Group. Because you can do so, please do not ask me to send them to you, unless I forgot to send them or the format is not suitable for your computer. If you are not yet part of the google group (tsk tsk), e-mail me and I will add you.
2) I will not send you your individual grades. This times a lot of time that I will not have over the coming two weeks. Instead, I will hold office hours when I return so you can view your grades thus far if you need to. I have grades only for attendance, two pop quizzes, and your midterm. I will also bring midterms that have not been picked up with me to office hours.
3) I will hold office hours on Friday, Dec. 28 from 9-10AM in the American Studies office. You can check your grades, or ask me questions about the course material then.
Thanks for a great semester. Good luck with your finals!
Take care,
C. Giang
