The USA Constitution is clear that a simple majority of 51% is all
that is required to pass legislation.

You would think that out of all the lawyers in Congress one of them
would know this. Or that one of the TV Talking Heads might point it
out.

Of course there are so many lies and so much false propaganda every
day that it's near impossible to keep up with it all but it struck
A.C.T. that this was worth pointing out since this idea of needing 60
votes not only distorts the current war debate but distorts an
essential aspect of our democracy.

Note: Any so-called 'polite,' little rule or tradition, such as this
60-vote tradition -- ANY and ALL rules and laws of Congress can be
changed with a simple majority, i.e. 51% -- that's the way America
works.

Amazing, isn't it, that the lies could go so deep and so fundamental.

Perhaps this might be worth pointint out to our Congressman and local
and national media.

P.S. - Congradulations to Al Gore for winning the Nobel Peace Prize
today, and to presidential candidate Ron Paul saying this yesterday:

RON PAUL: "In recent decades, our policies have been driven by
neoconservative empire radicalism; profiteering in the military
industrial complex; misplaced do-good internationalism; mercantilistic
notions regarding the need to control natural resources; and blind
loyalty to various governments in the Middle East."

The leading whimp Democrats are quite disappointing. It's nice to hear
someone really ring a bell of truth; in either party.
