Response to protester at GM Board of Director's meeting 

Hi Mr. Dollinger,
I work at the now slated to close GM-Moraine Assembly Plant in Moraine
Ohio, we build(t) the GMC's, Jimmy's and other SUV's, our plant is not
UAW, it is IUE-no matter we (unions) are all in this together and must
stand united. Now that being said: here is something the BOD needs to
scrutinize.,( having been hurt badly several times working on the
line, Job add ons- line speed ups and the C-Crew crap ), management
had to find me work within my restrictions so I have worked in jobs
where I could observe management on an almost intimate basis and I can
tell you lots and lots of mgt. mistakes..from labor relations to the
engineers and once S.Brock (the closer) came to our plant after
M.Glinski bailed, we were in trouble. What I can't understand is the
willingness to put our dues paying members out on the street  and keep
an overload of salary.THE HOURLY PERSONAL AT MORAINE ARE/WERE NOT THE
DECISION MAKERS Management 's baby all the way and some of these ideas/
concepts, decisions were/are so incredabley inept and non-functional
AND there are to many to list but just a few to give you an idea.. ie:
hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars  spent on wrong parts we
can't use,( one of my jobs was to rectify this and was told HUSSSH, I
did the right thing and people got squirmy and I was put out of work
on "S & A" for 15 months and had to get a lawyer to get back to work
for addressing monumentous waste)) building ship shacks that are not
used,  moving Trim and all the machinery to another building for a
temporary time while another was being built then moving into the new
tens of million $'s building ( tearing down the other costing
millions), putting in IT and contracting companies who have eliminated
virtually most of hourly skilled tradesmen but only doing hap-hazard
work, cutting corners in all the wrong places and bonus lining for
ideas that don't/can't work, (  I actually kept a log of one of the
suppliers((Grainger to be specific)) and the goings on would make you
sick!)I am not saying all mgt. are free with GM's cash but the waste
on the better part of mgt would make the BOD freak out! So we the
hourly are paying for the sins of management. somehow this does not
seem like a turn around for GM but a large evacuation of the wrong end
of the work force, if our plant is a small clue of what is wronge with
GM, it is not wronge from the bottom up but from the top down, why are
the BOD not looking into these kind of practices ? instead  it is
easier to dump it on the heads of those of us who physically build
GM's articles and then cut our fingers off  disabling us while adding
more on us, it is NOT HOURLY THAT HAVE CREATED THIS MEGA MONSTER, we
unfortunatly have no say in the GMS/Global aspect we just build the
product. When we had to work 10+ hours a day at straight time and
every Saturday we had a schedule any doctor would tell you was highly
dangerous and unhealthy, we did as we were told...line started at 5:18
A.M. off at 4:48P.M. -5:18P.M. Mondays and Tuesdays off wed/Thurs.
line starts at 5:18 P.M. Fri/Sat..Mon/Tue 5:18P.M. to 4:48A.M.-
5:18A.M. off Wed/Thur back in on Friday at 5:18A.M. ...over and over
for almost ten years..we called it the zombie crew. They literally
wore us out but we did it and mgt paid NO OVERTIME for these hours..we
did get a shift premium but the wear and tear on our bodies was
horrific..we did it, we did all and more asked of us...while the vast
majority of salary worked a livable schedule..we did their Modular
Work Group thing..We gave and gave and gave( PA days, vacation days,
lost COL at times, we lost) while the plant mgr's (Roth, Mader) cried
because the only got a million dollar preformance bonus..So Please Jim
ask the BOD is this exceptable? I am not saying they (stock holders
and management should not make money, I am saying leave my job and pay
alone instead Rickie and Bob and Fritz can cut us because it makes
their numbers look better and boy can they juggle numbers. If they
could only see that we the Hourly made their profit and mgt. took it,
Most of management will be sent to other GM facilities and we are on
the street. The numbers Rick and crew  are looking at are not real and
one other thing..we were promised a product..so they not only are
stealing from hourly...they lied. I have stock in GM but the new
wagoner law that if it's not at least a 1,000  shares, your voice is
not heard, Hell even A.Farmer makes 1,200,000. plus stock options and
the list of $$$ on GM's payroll should tell you, it's not hourly BUT
IS SALARY/MGT. greed that has GM in the spot they are in now..it is a
travesty and  pay back is a Bitch..I am sorry for chewing on your ear,
I just thought you should hear  from a watcher and let the blame go
where it really belongs
