All,

We had 9 registered riders for today's "Joey's" Friday Special.   had our usual safety brief and discussed possible hazards from the rainstorms last evening.  GusR came by to notify us of potential "nutty" drivers.

The ride started fast but steady.  It felt hotter than the posted 80 degrees and the partly cloudy skies.  Some folks traveled south via the Talbot Islands State Parks and others traveled the regular route on the road.  At the pavilion we discussed JoeP's transfer to UF Health and his recovery so far.  Since the original Brain Trust location (First Love downtown) wasn't available until 4pm, I made the executive decision to meet at V's on Sadler instead.

The ride back was similar to the ride down.  I took the trails on the Talbots and enjoyed the wildlife...

(He was bigger than he looks in the photo).  GaryK observed some real wildlife near Sister's Creek Bridge...bird meets snake...bird eats snake

Kinda gruesome but cool too.

No mechanicals or flats to report.

At the Brain Trust a few of us commented that we were not feeling too well at ride's end.  Weather is getting hotter so we need to hydrate!

That's All Folks,
GK

After riding my bike in Florida for 19 summers, I’ve learned to have, at minimum, 2 bottles. One water and one sport drink with electrolytes. Just remember to drink them!
